Brannen recently turned 16 and is at the high school as a Sophomore. He has a lot more homework this year, but has still maintained a 4.0. He learned to drive, and is looking forward to getting his license in the next couple of months.
Piano is a huge part of Brannen's life. He is an organist for our congregation, as well as the choir pianist. He still teaches 10 students, as well as has lessons himself. This year his teacher is helping him to learn how to compose, and also to play by using chords and improvisation. He was introduced to the music of Jon Schmidt, and now plays a lot of his music! He enjoys performing, and will be participating in two talent shows this month.
Brannen enjoys playing basketball with friends. He also participates on the track team, and really enjoys running and the high jump. His high jump record is 5'0", but is excited to begin jumping again this season to improve. A major accomplishment this year was participating in a 1/2 marathon. He completed it with a time of 2:15:50!
A year ago, Brannen earned his Eagle Scout award. He continues to enjoy scouting, and is looking forward to some high adventures this summer! He succeeds at whatever he chooses to do and is well liked by everyone. We love you Brannen!

Congrats Grandpa Gaylon and Brannen!
By Dana Fowler
Grandpa Gaylon is an avid runner. This man truly has it in his blood. During my stay in Utah, he participated in TWO - 5 K runs! At one point in his life he did a marathon in 2:37:59! Anyway, when Brannen heard that Grandpa was doing this, he signed up too. This was only his 2nd offical 5K. He took 12th in his age group with a time of 23:00. Grandpa took first in his age group with a time of 25:28. Not bad for the young age of 81!!
